Kendal Center Services and Some Additional Resources

ATM – Located near the Café coat rack.

Bank – A branch of Citizens Bank is located in the main hall near the Health Center.
Hours: Tues & Thurs 8am -3pm; Fri 12:30 – 3pm.  Tel. 610 335-0041.

Car Wash: The hose on the parking lot side of the Kendal barn can be used for washing your car.

Carpentry Repairs: (The Woodshop is temporarily closed for renovation). Our own Kendal Woodshop is the first place to ask for help. They do miracle work on almost anything and the proceeds benefit KRA.

Catering – Kendal Dining Service will do everything you want from a full waited service or buffet dinner to a cocktail party in the Farmhouse or cottage. Did you know that there is no cost to use the Farmhouse? Dining Services can provide the flatware, glassware and china only, or can provide all of the food, setup and cleanup. You are only charged for the hours the dining staff works and the food ordered. If you would like an estimate ahead of time, just give us about a week to get you one. Copier – Lower Level between Pottery Room and Art Room. 5¢ per sheet.

Farmhouse – Building located southwest of Kendal Center is available for private parties and overnight accommodations. See receptionist for brochure and reservations.

FedEx – Residents call FedEx at (800) 463- 3339 for a pick up and provide them with the correct Kendal at Longwood address, 1109 East Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, PA 19348, in order to make arrangements for this service. Ask the receptionist if you have questions.

Gateway Gift Shop – Located in Kendal Center across from Coffee Shop. Sells Clothing, accessories, jewelry, greeting cards, etc. During the pandemic, greeting cards may be purchased online. Click here for details.

Library – Open 24/7: library staff on duty from 10 to 12, Mon – Sat. Low vision assistance available.

Maps – Maps of the KCC Campus, Kendal Cottages and Walking Trails and more are available at the front desk and on the website under Resources tab, or click here: Maps.

Meal will be missed – Bag lunches are available for any missed meal with two stipulations. First, you must pick up the meal before you miss the meal (today for tomorrow and not today for yesterday) and, second, it can only be for one day. If you are going away for two weeks, you cannot get 14 box lunches, only one. Bag lunches are available for those on the traditional one meal a day plan or the 25 meals a month plan. Come to the Cafe between 7:30 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. and order what you would like, ask to have it wrapped, grab some fruit, a yogurt or a bag of chips, and a drink and tell the cashier that it is a box lunch for the next day and you are ready to go.

Notary Public – Free Service provided by Kendal Administration. Contact the Office Manager at 610-388-5502 to schedule an appointment.

Post Office – Mail is delivered Monday – Saturday to resident locked postal boxes in main center hallway. Outgoing USPS mailbox is located between resident’s locked postal boxes and Open Boxes. Packages can be weighed and appropriate postal label purchased from administrative assistant. Outgoing packages with prepaid postal label can be sent from front desk. Resident Exchange Bulletin Board – Lower Level near elevator.

Salon – Kendal Beauty Shop for men and women. Lower Level on southwest corner of hall. Appointment will be required; no walk ins -Marie at 610-388-5557.
 Priority to existing customers; new customers may call for an appointment
 Hours: 9:30a – 2:30p, Wed. & Thurs.
 Masks must be worn throughout the appointment
 No more than 2 residents at one time

Shredder – Lower level hallway next to Wood Shop.

Transportation – Check at the Front Desk for the Transportation schedule, or find it on the Transportation Committee page.

TV9/Ch9 – Large screen in Kendal Center hall posts selected daily activities, such as exercise and pool hours, programs and daily menus for Main Dining Room and Cafe.

UPS – UPS package are delivered to the main center. If you have received a package that doesn’t fit in your mail box, a paper notice will be put in your box. Health Center resident packages are delivered to the main center and then taken to Cumberland or Westmorland. Outgoing packages can be shipped through the reception desk for a charge. Packages with a prepaid return label can be sent from front desk also. Ask the receptionist if you have questions.
