Medical Assistance Companions (MAC)

Staff Contact: Linda Jackson, Resident Care Secretary.(610) 388-5531.

Volunteers accompany residents on medical trips to doctor’s offices, outpatient hospital clinics. The request for a companion is initiated by Resident Care. Transportation to medical appointments is arranged through the Resident Care office.

Transportation to off-site medical appointments not referred by our doctors (these include dentists and podiatrists) is not scheduled by the Resident Care office. These arrangements may be made with the receptionist in the Main Center. Requests for transportation should be made as early as possible. The resident will be responsible for a transportation charge to a specialist of his/her choice.

Medical Assistance Companions (MAC’s) are a group of resident volunteers who are available upon request from the resident. Their job is to accompany the resident to an outside appointment and provide support as needed. These MAC’s support our compliance with confidentiality.
